At 6:00 a.m. today, Tuesday November 4th, Virginia’s polls opened for an Election Day showdown that will elect a new Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, potentially redraw the balance of power in the House of Delegates, and determine the direction of kitchen-table topics from Fairfax to Gate City.

Key Voting Logistics

  • Polling Hours: Polls open at 6:00 a.m. and close at 7:00 p.m. If you are in line by 7:00 p.m., you are legally entitled to stay and cast your ballot, even if voting extends past closing time.
  • Absentee Ballots: Must be returned to an official drop-box or postmarked by 5:00 p.m. today to be counted. Late arrivals will be rejected.
