Pin Ni a billionaire Electric Vehicle and Chinese Communists leader may have broken a Virginia law prohibiting foreign electioneering when he donated $50,000 to Spanberger’s campaign.

Pin Ni serves as President of the Wanxiang America, a Chinese automotive conglomerate that specializes in electric vehicles, and is recognized as the Party Committee member who oversees the company.

Spanberger, a former CIA operative, has campaigned on promises to expand tax credits and establish mandates for electric vehicles which would directly benefit Pin’s corporate interests.

Biden-era EV mandates were killed by Trump during his first week in office after trade organizations such as NADA objected to the process and policy analysts pointed to the negative impact EVs have on both the environment, consumers, and labor. Spanberger’s state EV rules would funnel money to Wanxiang America and similar companies.

A spokesperson for Spanberger said the campaign contributions were not an issue and that “Virginians know that Abigail Spanberger has a demonstrated record of standing up for America’s national security, delivering results for Virginia families across party lines, and never backing down from keeping the American people safe.”

Republicans across social media blasted Spanberger for being too cozy with international interest and demanded ethics and election watchdogs investigate.

“The CCP is the single greatest threat to the United States,” the Republican Party of Virginia said in a statement. “Either Spanberger is dangerously naïve, or she simply can’t be trusted.”

The Youngkin-Sears administration pushed through legislation in Virginia banning China and other foreign adversaries from owning farm land or land near military installations. At the time, China owned 14,000 acres of land in Virginia.

Pin has been recognized 15 times as “Outstanding Communist Party Member of the Wanxiang Group.”

The Chinese Communist Party generally prohibits members from American citizenship and Virginia law prohibits campaign donations from non-citizens, raising questions about Pin’s citizenship and his interests.

“It’s bad enough if Spanberger is taking illegal campaign donations from a foreign source, but outrageous that it’s from a member of the Chinese Communist Party,” National Legal and Policy Center counsel Paul Kamenar told the Washington Free Beacon.

Chinese spies have recently targeted US politicians, especially in California.
