Charlie Kirk Murder Suspect Arrested: Police Identify Him as Tyler Robinson
Family ties revealed as 22-year-old’s father, a sheriff’s deputy, helped secure his arrest.

Police in Utah say they have taken into custody Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old suspected of assassinating conservative activist Charlie Kirk during a rally this week.

Robinson was arrested late Thursday in Washington, Utah, after allegedly admitting the crime to his father, Matt Robinson, a longtime deputy with the Washington County Sheriff’s Department. Sources say the deputy contacted authorities and arranged for his son to be handed over.

Investigators revealed that Robinson was attending Utah State University on a scholarship. He lived with his family in a $600,000 home in Washington, where his mother, Amber, works for a company contracted to help disabled residents receive care.

Social media shows a family that once celebrated Robinson’s academic success and posted frequent smiling photos. Robinson is the oldest of three brothers.

Officials have not provided a motive, but prosecutors stated the case qualifies for capital punishment if Robinson is convicted.
