Democratic Rep. Suhas Subramanyam won reelection in Virginia’s 10th Congressional District, defeating Republican challenger Dave Beckwith. The New York Times called the race on Tuesday evening.
Subramanyam campaigned on lowering costs, protecting reproductive health care and supporting small businesses and federal workers. During his first term, he introduced legislation to strengthen federal telework protections and require states to adopt electricity tariffs intended to ensure data centers pay their own power costs. Beckwith, a retired Air Force colonel and former Pentagon official, emphasized fiscal responsibility, public safety and an energy strategy encompassing nuclear power, natural gas and renewables.
The Cook Political Report rated the race Solid Democratic heading into the election. The Northern Virginia district includes Loudoun County, Manassas and surrounding suburban and rural communities. First elected in 2024 to succeed retiring Democratic Rep. Jennifer Wexton, Subramanyam secured another two-year term, keeping the seat in Democratic hands.
