On Wednesday, Democratic Lieutenant Governor candidate Ghazala Hashmi was seen standing on the back of a truck speaking to her supporters as she flew an upside down American flag.

“We have to fight. We are not going to concede this democracy to the efforts of tyranny,” she yelled at her supporters atop her truck.“We are not going to concede the rights that we have in this country to protect every single citizen. We are going to fight. This is an act of civil disobedience that we are going to keep up and make sure that your voices continue throughout Virginia, all throughout the country.” (RELATED: Chad Green Battles Back: Republican Delegate Eyes Re-Election in Tight District 69 Race)

According to Townhall, Hashimi has led a relatively quiet career in the Virginia Senate. However, she has had a sketchy record on anti-semitism. She has denounced Hamas and anti-semitism but her actions have said otherwise.

Hashimi has also bragged about preventing parents from having the right to more choices on how their child is educated. She touted her “proud defeat” of Governor Youngkin’s bill that would give scholarships or vouchers for parents to choose what private or public institution to send their kid. She blamed the lack of public education quality on lack of funding and resources. She also claims her new funding would come from “closing corporate tax loopholes” and re-designing the Virginia tax structure.

She also bragged about the prevention of banning obscene material from schools. “I have fought and defeated Governor Youngkin’s attacks on teachers and his attempts to ban books,” said Hashimi.

Youngkin passed legislation that would notify parents when books that support DEI and sexually explicit content entered the reach of their children. Then when requests that these schools remove the books, said requests were shot down by Virginia Democrats.
