Youngkin Protected Gun Rights, Spanberger Promises to Increase Restrictions
Spanberger and Earle-Sears provide stark contrast on the Second Amendment.

In two years, Governor Glenn Youngkin has vetoed 54 bills restricting gun rights, but Democrat Abigail Spanberger promises to start signing them.

From ending license reciprocity with other states to opening manufacturers up to lawsuits, the Democrat controlled legislature took aim at the Second Amendment even trying to override Youngkin’s vetoes.

Proposed law even targeted professional and competition shooting, such as is offered in Virginia schools. Democrats in the legislature attempted to ban firearm modifications common for competition. (RELATED: Virginia Candidates Rush to Tie Opponents to National Figures)

Speaking at a gun control rally earlier this year, Spanberger explicitly promised to begin signing legislation.

“Now I’m running for governor, and I will say this: as governor of this great commonwealth, I will sign commonsense gun violence prevention bills,” Spanberger said.

Winsome Earle-Sears has spoken extensively about Second Amendment rights, tying them directly to women’s equality.

“By the way, the fasted growing segment of gun owners, do you know who they are? I’m glad you asked. It’s women. Women. Black women,” Said Earle-Sears in an appearance on Bill Maher. “And it was a Black woman that said you need a Winchester rifle in every home. A Black woman during the civil rights and before said that. And Harriet Tubman carried a gun. If it’s good enough for her, it’s good enough for me.”

Liberal host Maher admitted to Earle-Sears that gun ownership promoted women’s safety. (RELATED: Spanberger Blasted for “Anti-Woman” Record in New Ad Campaign)

Earle-Sears made national headlines during her Lt. Governor campaign for a photo posing with an ArmaLite Rifle. Spanberger has been endorsed by anti-Second Amendment lobbyists and has backed a ban on the sale of Earle-Sears’ style of firearm.
