Seven dogs are ready to begin new lives in Virginia Beach after being rescued from abusive and neglectful conditions.
These seven dogs come from animal rescue operations in Maryland and Indiana. During a recent heatwave in Indiana several of these dogs were rescued from what local authorities believe was a dogfighting ring. The remainder of the dogs are just a small portion of the 100+ animals that were taken during a massive rescue operation on a Havanese breeding facility in Harford County, Maryland.
The dogs are now under the care of veterinarians and staff of the Virginia Beach Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. They are being provided with medical care, safe shelters, and the love and attention each dog deserves.
The Executive Director of the Virginia Beach Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, Jennifer Fly said that “The faster we can get them into those homes, the faster they can settle with their new people, the faster they can learn to be a pet.” (RELATED: Delegate Wyatt Eyes Another Term, Promises Lower Taxes and Job Growth)
The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals relies on community support to continue its mission to rescue and rehabilitate animals in need.
